"Values are what you do" - I really liked this heading from The Staff Engineer's Path, I wholeheartedly agree. Whilst the industry doesn't look great, individual engineers can demonstrate what *their* values are, and set the team's values by demonstrating what they find valuable.

Funny to see VCs who generally rail against government intervention making the case for a bailout of Silicon Valley Bank now that there's an intervention that would directly help them and their friends. Socialism for me, capitalism for thee.

Take some time to ask your colleagues how they are doing, and listen to the responses. Humanity, and empathy underpins team health — and it means a lot to those of us that have invisible struggles.

Let me just say Heathrow Airport absolutely sucks if you are celiac. No coffee place that has a milk marked GF. No options. Learn from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) ✈️ - where there is a dedicated GF place in the damn terminal.

At this point, I am extremely biased towards ideas that come with some form of code. Doesn’t need to be production quality. Doesn’t need to handle the corner cases. But does need to show how you started to think about whether the idea you have is implementable.
