I can be pretty skeptical about Chicago politics, but yesterday a friend reminded me: Brandon Johnson participated in the hunger strike to save Dyett Schools. That committment to public schools is so material -- it's a tangible demonstration of his politics, beyond buzzwords.

Black communities are the most impacted by violence in Chicago. If you're a white person that cares about addressing violence and making Chicago safer, please consider what it means that nearly 3/4 of Black voters support Brandon Johnson rather than Paul Vallas.
