Thrilled to be on the shortlist for the Historia – the HWA (historical fiction) Gold Crown Award, together with five other extremely tempting books!

Last night, attending the Historia – the HWA awards, I managed to convince the lovely The Cheese Tasting Company people to let me loose with their cheese cutter... Has to be a way to kill someone with this thing (for a crime novel!).
Carolyn Kirby's research for her new novel, Ravenglass, made her wonder what lay behind the apparently radical shift in men’s fashions in the late 18thC: the invention of the ‘masculine’ style that still dominates menswear. Read about it at historiamag.com/invent-masculi… Carolyn Kirby
Just listening to BBC Radio 4 History's Toughest Heroes about William Marshall (The Greatest Knight) and listening to Elizabeth Chadwick speaking. Great programme - available now on BBC iPlayer.
