Please sign & share the petition. Family migration is only 5% of legal immigration & this government are basically banning us Brits from falling in love with a foreign person!! Do not tell me who to love !@carolvorders

In light of Rwanda detentions, and the fact I am giving a talk about this subject at the Institute of Government & Public Policy National Refugees and Asylum Seekers conference on May 14th, here are some thoughts as to why 'deterrents' aren't just pointless, but also actively harmful 1/

Last week, I opposed the Government's new requirement, from next year, that people must earn £38,700 per year to bring their spouse to the UK. It will force families to live apart, separate children from parents, and damage the cohesion of UK society.

I’m bumping this tweet up from Toufique, email for people detained for the purposes of removal to Rwanda. I understand Wilson Solicitors are also prioritising referrals for people in this situation.

Thank God for the lawyers 🧡

We are extremely grateful to Sir Stephen and all the MPs from various parties who joined the Debate on the MIR increase and spoke of the impacts on family and couples.

Family is a right not a privilege.

Messages from frontline asylum charities wondering what to do in face of gov claiming start of asylum arrests tomorrow:

1. People are frightened, be careful not to allow our fear to spread further to them. Be calm. Remember your role is to listen, present options, don’t direct.
