RIP Kris Kristofferson. I had the good fortune to work for several days with Mr Kristofferson on A STAR IS BORN back in 1976. Kris clipped me pretty good during a fight scene. I was invited to his trailer for an apology and a beer. A real gentleman.

RIP Gene Hackman, a consummate film actor. Been a fan since BONNIE AND CLYDE in which his death scene still haunts me. Other favorites: Arthur Penn’s NIGHT MOVES and Coppola’s THE CONVERSATION. Or just watch him having fun in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN or the ROYAL TENNENBAUMS.
