Biology professor and photographer. Not the most prolific tweeter, but I try to post several times a week. Mostly zoo animals. Some wildlife thrown in as well.

Nice little portrait of the female snow leopard at the Sacramento Zoo, taken a while back. Haven't been there in quite some time -- they made some exhibit changes that make photography difficult, which really disappointed me. But I still wonder how she's doing periodically.

High beams engaged! If you didn't see my previous pictures of this guy, he had an eye infection when he was younger that caused his eyes to become cloudy. He can still see, but his eyes are permanently dilated now to let more light in, thus the glow. Mountain lion, Como Zoo.

A portrait of one of the chonkers at the San Francisco Zoo from a while back. This was my first time using my new 200-500mm lens. Lots of reach on that thing, and a lot of fun detail in all that snow leopard fuzz. :)

Twitter has suspended my second account for "evasion of suspensions" tonight, despite the fact that I've never been suspended on either account. I know neither of my accounts are huge, but I've put a lot of work into each of them, and this really makes me sad. Feeling this rn.

A quick Twitter search shows a lot of people who have been suspended for "evading suspension" today. Seems like Twitter's finding brand new terrible ways to break. Cool. Guess we'll see if there is anyone actually left who can fix the problem and reinstate the people affected. 🙄

Being seeing a lot of clouded leopards in my timeline lately, and it made me envious, so I decided to go back and find some older pictures to post. I miss seeing these cats. Hopefully I'll have a chance to see them again some day. A cub at Point Defiance Zoo, 2016.

🐱 Snow leopard, Sacramento Zoo. A shot that has really resonated with me and some of my friends over the years. Don't forget to smile today.

Happy #InternationalTigerDay. A few of my favorite photos, taken over the years. Each of these shots has a story behind it, and I feel lucky to have been able to see these wonderful animals in all their majesty.

A portrait of one of the most majestic cats I've ever known for #WorldLionDay. Kamau is no longer with us, but I really enjoyed watching him and getting to know him over the years. :) He was a good dad and a glamour model to boot.

A few older clouded leopard photos that I still really like. I heard that some clouded leopard cubs were born in Oklahoma, and I feel like it's not healthy that I'm even remotely considering traveling halfway across the country just to see them. ;)
