Was a pleasure for our volunteer crew to attend this event at Historic Royal Palaces Hampton Court Palace and to share important water safety advice - if you find yourself in trouble in the water float on your back and call for help.

We would urge members of the public not to enter the water if they see somebody in difficulty, but to dial 999. Keep an eye on the person,tell them to float on their back, throw them something that will help them float. Look out for emergency throw bags stationed along the river.

On Thursday 1 August, volunteers from Teddington participated in a special photo moment – One Moment for One Crew – to create a photographic record of those involved with the lifesaving charity in this, its 200th anniversary year. rnli.org/news-and-media…

Following a successful bid at auction @london_rc we welcomed Sue, Andy and young Ollie (future crew?!) who won a day visiting three Thames RNLI lifeboat Stations. Volunteer crew showed them the ropes - Ollie even got into a drysuit, lifejacket & helmet & honed his VHF skills!

At 4.58 am today volunteer crew launched both D class lifeboats to assist Kingston Police near Ham. The situation was safely resolved and the crew returned to the lifeboat station just after sunrise. If you see somebody in trouble in the water dial 999 for the coastguard.
