Residents of #Charlotte and nearby areas may see #NNSA’s twin-engine Bell 412 #helicopter today. The low flights are part of standard preparations to protect public health and safety at the #RNC.

An individual unlawfully entered the temporary security perimeter near the RNC Convention in #Charlotte. The individual did not enter an area where delegates are present for the RNC or impact any planned events. The individual has been arrested by CMPD.

/UPDATE/The individual CMPD News arrested jumped a four-foot fence, trespassing under NCGS 14-159.12. This was a pre-existing fence to prohibit access to Charlotte’s light rail system, closed for the RNC. This fencing is part of an outer security area monitored by law enforcement.
