Before an assessment, ask yourself, why? Why do I want this information; what do I intend to do with it? The question is not "should I grade it" but rather, "what purpose does it serve?" Once you are clear on purpose (FA/SA), you'll know what to do. #edutwitter #ATAssessment #K12

Wrong answers are not synonymous with mistakes...they are based on what students understand at that moment...they are incomplete conceptions not MISconceptions. Yoy can be wrong but not mistaken. Yes Dan Meyer! YES.

Serious question #MTBos #iteachmath: What does rationalizing the denominator add to a student's toolbox? I've been at this a long time and not sure anymore. Feels like it's become one more thing to teach that takes away time from problem solving.
