Just when you think you're finally growing up and developing good, healthy habits, an unexpected junk food binge while watching terrible TV happens. All while making emotional choices your 17-years old self would judge you for. Harshly. Le sigh.

Could we, without relentlessly criticizing, let people have their pumpkin spice, and avacado toast, and their fandoms, and their D&D, and their too-early-Halloween-decorations, and whatever little harmless things in which they’ve manage to find a tiny shriveled flower of joy?

Eternally grateful for libraries. A safe little pocket of comfort and peace walking in through those doors, always welcoming and kind. :)

Last night in Delhi, mum's rajma chawal for dinner, tonnes of family hugs and laughs, quiet ride to the airport, more family hugs, held back tears as we wave at each other for as long as possible. No matter how many times I do this, saying goodbye shatters my heart. :(

And even as I tear up thinking about my family, part of me can't wait to be back in my own apartment in Vancouver. Having two homes can be so comforting and difficult all at the same time. Sigh. So many feelings.

Women who can do their makeup flawlessly while being jostled around on the SkyTrain - you're amazing. In fact, anyone who can do anything requiring fine motor control on the SkyTrain - you're amazing.

Waking up early on weekends. Getting a thrill out of cleaning the house. Sticking to a self-imposed 1-episode-on-school-nights limit on Netflix. Who have I become?!

Also, audiobooks make working on weekends infinitely more bearable. Today's selection was #Buffering by はると, one of the most honest and beautiful collection of essays I've ever come across. Her compassion, humility, generosity, and strength shone through on every page.

Trying to embrace the new without completely giving up the old. Being an emotional/sentimental hoarder makes everything so much more difficult than it needs to be! Ugh.
