Piotr allows Kitty to go on for quite a bit. It’s when the man looks close to death, though, that he calls out, “Stop.” He fully expects her to obey, and his eyes never move away from Logan.

There’s a swelling of pride in his chest as Kitty obeys, a knowing smirk on his face. He watches as Logan leaves, and without even looking back to his partner, he gives a nod — a signal that she may continue her actions. He’s done what he needed to do.

Piotr’s eyes move to watch the final action, and he smiles at his partner, motioning her over to him. She looks so pretty with that smile on her face. Even with the blood around.

He steps over to her and leans down to press a soft kiss to her lips, whispering, “You did good, malyshka. Thank you for listening to me.”

“I know.” She’s always been nothing but loyal. He remembers when they first started out, the resentment — then her look of realization that he wants the best for her. They’ll always be a team.

He doesn’t mind the blood. In fact, when he hugs her back, it’s a good bit tighter than she’s hugging him, keeping her firmly close. His little soulmate.

His jaw clenches at the sound of Logan’s actions, but he doesn’t move for a second. He doesn’t want to cause Katya any more stress. Instead, he places a kiss on top of her head. Soft.
