Great to know that human rights lawyer #LuSiwei has been released. His wife's younger sister and another friend waited outside the detention centre for ~1.5 hours. Later, they got Lu Siwei's call saying that he's taken to a "judicial centre" by some political security officers.

It was lovely reuniting with Uyghur HRD Yalkun Uluyol for a #HRC60 side event in Geneva, alongside my trusted colleague Orsolya Toth Orsolya Toth. Yalkun's father, Memet Yaqup, was wrongfully imprisoned for 16 years by the Chinese government for committing no recognizable crime.

#China journalist #ZhangZhan broke no laws. In fact, the law she allegedly violated—“picking quarrels and provoking trouble”—has been repeatedly cited by #UN #humanrights experts as subject to abuse. Her persecutors should be prosecuted. ⁦CHRD人权捍卫者⁩ theguardian.com/world/2025/sep…
