Visited the former KGB prison in downtown Riga where dissidents and free thinkers were imprisoned and executed. Sad to think how many lives were ruined so recently in a now free country, and even sadder how many lives are still being ruined around the world in dictatorships.

The KGB building in Riga runs very very powerful tours telling the story of the building during KGB and Nazi times. It’s a “most do” visit - The guides even dress like KGB operatives. Here is me being integrated as a British Spy and Dawn Carter phoning the embassy for help!

KGB headquarters in Riga, Latvia, was definitely an emotional, educational trip. I’m so grateful my grandma and granny escaped although my granny’s brother was not so lucky and was sent to a Siberian camp where he died. #myheritage ❤️
