There's a public meeting tomorrow, Thursday 4/17, 7 PM at Northeastern University's recital hall, about CDOT's plan for protected bike lanes on Bryn Mawr from the Sauganash Trail to the North Shore Channel Trail.

Show up tonight! These are OUR streets and we want SAFE streets for all.

We visited the crash sites on Long Ave during last year’s event. We hope these traffic calming measures help keep all road users safe.

CDOT just provided the meeting presentation for the Complete Streets project on Long Avenue in Portage Park. In addition to the street being converted to one-way for driver and getting speed humps, it is getting contraflow bike lanes. Here's the document. chicago.gov/city/en/sites/…

Hey, IDOT_Illinois, what will it take to improve conditions on Cicero (such as this intersection) for this road and all arterial state roads to become safer for all road users? Let’s focus on moving people safely, not on moving cars quickly.

Our hearts go out to this teen. We hope for a full recovery. Our route passed through this intersection in 2024 on the way to other teen tragedies in this northwest area of the city. This intersection is known to be dangerous yet a major east-west bike route must cross it.

Tragically, an SUV driver, 65, fatally struck a man, 18, on a bike Monday around 4:53 AM in 100 N. block of Michigan Ave., near Millennium Park. The motorist was cited for failure to reduce speed. It was the first Chicago bike fatality of 2025. blockclubchicago.org/2025/05/26/cyc…

We are saddened to learn of this fatality… less than a week after the Ride of Silence that honors those who have been killed or injured while cycling. The victim was on an e-Divvy which has lights. Yet the driver was in a Hummer. We need the full story of what happened.

Thoughts on the Divvy crash death of "talented" barber Yader Castaneda, 18, in Chicago's Loop. Everyone should travel safely. But if you're operating a 9,063-pound Hummer, not a 70-pound e-bike, you have much more responsibility to avoid killing others. chi.streetsblog.org/2025/05/28/cpd…
