Using the Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio as a “free upgrade to the CBC” (h/t 𝙟𝙤𝙨𝙝 𝙛𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙖𝙨 💊) helped me to diagnose aortic dissection in a young patient recently. If you’re discharging a patient with a NLR >10, it’s worth a second look.
