Made the most of an free afternoon with a cracking late lunch Sonny Stores & an UPFEST catch up 🎨 Perfect sunny afternoon in BS3

Christmas Day lunch this year was a bit different; high up in the M’Goun mountains of Morocco. Locally grown veggies & a Shakshuka I’ll never forget. Decent views too! 🤩

Tried the new roast offering at Bank today. Sourdough focaccia with whipped cod’s roe, miso & sesame was a very good snack, followed by a very tender sirloin with braised oxtail, crème fraiche horseradish & a delicious red wine gravy. Keen to try more of their menu after this!

Dinner last night at Root. Perfect food to match the sunshine. Salt baked Jersey Royals my favourite dish last night, and plenty of their Tempura Spring Onions were had too 🌶️

Definitely roast lunch weather today ☔️ BANK Bristol providing pork belly (& that’s a cherry sauce..not tomato ketchup just incase it looks like I’ve lost my mind) 😅

A first visit to Picole from the team @tarebristol Favourite was the rosti w/ truffle mayo & Montgomery cheese. Trout w/apple, labneh & dill, sun dried tomato & mozzarella arancini, boquerones & tomatoes w/cashew curd,basil & hazelnuts,duck parfait on brioche & summer plum all👌🏼

Another excellent dinner @tarebristol - lobster cannelloni w/ tempura kohlrabi & scallop XO was excellent, as was the shiitake/celeriac/whey/hazelnut dish. Wine flight on a Wednesday night resulted in a long Thursday morning 😅

Incredible wine tasting experience Babylonstoren to kick off my South Africa road trip. The same owners as The Newt in Somerset & lots of similarities between the two locations (not the weather). Beautiful grounds & kitchen garden. The produce here is incredible!
