Had a walk round Chalkney woods today. Cant say I enjoyed it. Almost 100% tree cover and very messy tracks. Theres a footpath under the trees in this photo would you believe. Essex County Council Oh, and got barked at by at off lead dog because it didnt expect to see someone else! 😲

Successful day at last with Chris Boyd at Winterton dunes looking for Southern emerald. 10-20 seen, hard to tell with double counting. Also lesser emperor, emperor, migrant hawker, ruddy darter, azure damsel & emerald. British Dragonfly Society Steve Routledge
