Thinking on this #HolocaustMemorialDay of Renée Goldman-Lewin, of 18 rue d'Aubervilliers, Paris 19eme. Rounded up and imprisoned in the Velodrome d’Hiver, Renée was separated from her mother, and was deported alone, on 22 August 1942 to a concentration camp. She was 4 years old.

RIP. Bob Solow an absolute giant in Economics, has passed away at age 99. Tremendously influential in the profession and one of the key founders of the MIT Economics department as we live it today. Will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace, Benjamin Zephaniah. His music & poetry in the 1980s opened my eyes to the racism & injustice faced by our fellow citizens. Seeing his transition from radical outsider to Britain’s national treasure was a delight. Because fundamentally, it wasn’t him that changed.
