It's official that we've ended up 16th this year in the Hellenic Premier at Thornbury Town FC. A successful campaign after a difficult start, operating with no budget but with an outstanding team spirit & a top group of young players. Thank you to everyone who played their part.

First visit to a Serie A game & the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Fiorentina 5-0 Sampdoria. Fiorentina look set for mid-table & Sampdoria look down, but still a great atmosphere, brilliant stadium & five top goals.

Very fortunate to be looking forward to the season ahead as first team manager at Thornbury Town, but also with an added role with Weston focused on their opposition analysis back in the National League South. Two great clubs looking forward to a good 2023/24 season 💪

Can be tough for us being down towards the bottom with no budget in a strong League being patient & picking up wins when we can, but days like yesterday are why we do it. From a 16-year-old debutant to a squad of outstanding characters who give everything. A lot still to do.

Vital win for us today after a tough period against a good Mangotsfield side in top form & a good set-up. Special moment for 16-year-old Raheim Henry coming on to score the goal set up by another player who was himself 17. Faith in young players, but everyone played their part.

Mission accomplished at Thornbury Town FC, looking forward to another season at step 5 next term. It's been achieved by a superb dedicated group of players, on no budget, and with amazing support from volunteers and committee. A huge thank you to everyone who played their part.

A huge character & for so many years the voice of Forest Green. I'll never forget Bob's: "Joycie, what's going on?!" at different stadiums as we tried to sort everything. Grateful to have spent time commentating with him & playing in the Bob Hunt XI. A career & life to remember.

Proud once again today of the players & the club. A fantastic win and trip down to Cornwall in the FA Vase at Torpoint. Days like these in the Vase are what clubs at our level strive for. Roll on round two & hopefully another great opportunity for us and more memories to enjoy.

Another big result & top performance for us against a strong opposition. Made the more special by several youngsters all stepping up as they so often do & delivering quality performances - from a 16-year-old in midfield to a 17-year-old assisting & scoring. Great team effort 👏

3-0 down - a couple of tactical changes & a press of the reset button & we come back to win 6-3. An outstanding response from the players who fought back with intensity & quality to score 6 times to make up for a poor start that put us in a difficult place. Time for a lie down.

The last 5 Hellenic Premier form table. Despite a lengthy injury list (like others) & losing our top scorer, our loyal lads & u18s we've begged & borrowed from other clubs with not a single penny spent have seen us keep battling on. Keep putting one foot in front of the other!

A few thoughts on the 24-25 season at Thornbury Town. A record-breaking campaign thanks to a special & and hard-working group of players & brilliant support off the pitch which helped us defy the odds in terms of what many would have expected. Thanks to all who played their part!

Very sad to hear of Jilly Cooper's passing. A loved character at Forest Green who was a great comfort when my time there ended. I've always cherished the dinners, parties and letters from an amazingly fascinating, talented & kind lady whose generosity & love was felt by so many.

No game today but a big day to tell you all about! On Sunday the 7th of December we will be holding a Memorial Match in honour of our Clive Baker. Players from all through Clive’s tenure will be gracing The Meadow once again, a sight that would have filled him with joy. A great

After a number of special years at Thornbury Town FC my time as manager has come to an end & I'm looking forward to pursuing a new opportunity that means I sadly have to leave the club. There's so many people to thank, and much to say, but I wish everyone the best for the future.
