Over the last few days we've been working with 16 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team as part of 4 Regiment Army Air Corps to support their training with air maneuver. From today until the end of August, the British Army 🇬🇧 will conduct training flights with Watchkeeper unmanned aerial vehicles over Pärnu and Western Estonia. The UAVs, operated by the Royal Artillery, do not carry weapon systems and are primarily used for reconnaissance missions.

An interesting new little deployment for Watchkeeper after experiences in Oman which included laser designation of targets in favour of Hellfire from Apache helicopters.

The The Army Air Corps was formed on this day in 1957. A Cambridge Blue beret was chosen for the new organisation as this colour featured in Glider Pilot Regiment uniforms and the Army Pilots Wings worn by both Air Observation Post units and the Glider Pilot Regiment. #OnThisDay
