『れい子さん、今日のお気に入り💝』 最初に会ったのが、1970年11月の第1回世界歌謡祭。 今でもあの日、心細そうに、武道館の壁に寄りかかって爪を噛んでいたカレンを思い出すわ、と、懐かしいお喋りにも思わず涙ぐんでしまったお兄さん、リチャード・カーペンターのステージを、ビルボード東京で。

カレンは居ないけど、リチャードのピアノ🎹で『Close To You』から始まって『Yesterday Once Moreまで。 カーペンターズの想い出話が通訳付きで聴けたビルボード東京のステージ。 サプライズは、カレンを叔母さんに持つリチャードの娘3人が『Top Of The World』や『Jambalaya』を歌ってくれました。

お土産は76歳のリチャードから、カーペンターズを愛する皆さんへのメッセージです。 『また来れて嬉しい。カレンも私も、世界中で日本が一番好きです。私たちを愛してくれて、皆さんがとても親切で、またこうして呼んで貰えるなんて、もう最高です。ありがとう』 と。 熱い想いが伝わって来ました。

それでは、今夜はこれで休みます。 明日もまた、てんこ盛りで仕事や細かい用事があって、おまけに来日している友人もいるし、ジャクソン・ブラウンのコンサートもあるし、、、。顔を洗って寝るのがいつも精一杯です。 おやすみなさい😴 おやすみなさい。
