I got into ministry to tell people about Jesus; not to argue with other Christians.

New Testament teaching is for the church, not the culture at large. Paul didn’t expect Nero to live like a Christian but he did expect Christians not to live like Nero.

Churches, it is time to emerge from survival mode. Pray for a Jesus proclaiming, God honoring and Holy Spirit inspired vision for the future. Where do you find such a vision? The Bible is a great place to start!

Christianity was born into a religiously pluralist world, and in that sense pluralism does not present a new problem for the Church.

I am constantly amazed at how much competition the Great Commission has for the guiding mission of the church.

The Church is not an organisation of spiritual giants. It is broken men and women who can lead others to the Cross.

When our Lord stretched forth his hand to heal a leper, there was no evangelistic strategy attached to the act. It was a pure outflow of the divine love into the world, and needed no further justification. Such should be the Church’s deeds of service.

Do we count everything rubbish for Christ’s sake-power, position, security, a good reputation? Do we count it a privilege if we have some share in his sufferings? And do we know the power of his resurrection?

The more your congregation views its own participation and energy as a part of the preaching moment, the better preaching you will get from the pulpit.
