Thank you Naomi for pointing this out. I agree that much better should be expected from Durham University and the Durham University Alumni team. Protecting freedom of expression is central to the work of a University but celebrating acts that are clearly causing serious harm is quite another.
A wonderful day celebrating 120 years of St Chad’s College 💚 Chad’s Day 2024 was one to remember! #nonvestrasedvos

Good to see Samaritans in Durham this am promoting #BrewMonday . We're told the 3rd Mon in Jan is the most difficult day of the year but it is a myth. We all have good & bad days but don't battle through in silence, reach out to family, friends & loved ones. A chat & a☕️can help.
It's very interesting that this announcement comes so quickly on the heels of the decision by The Church of England to offer similar blessings to individuals in same-sex relationships (not their relationship) - thus sidestepping the Gordian Knot as to whether gay sex is a sin or not..

Excellent St Chad’s Alumni Carol service last night in London: thank you to Maeve Sherlock for a great sermon, Anthony Ball for his kind welcome, David Rushton for a beautiful liturgy, our alumni scratch choir & organist for superb music, student volunteers & to all who came.
So looking forward to the St Chad's College Alumni Carol service here this evening. Grateful to Bishop Anthony Ball for welcoming us, and to Maeve Sherlock, our preacher.
Always a great opportunity to catch up with lots of Chadsians from across the generations.
