Today in church communications: looking on stock photo sites for "crucifer" yields nothing helpful (I wasn't particularly expecting it to) but I did learn that there is a lovely froggy from Ecuador who has crucifer in their scientific name.

I like a lot of things about working for Forward Movement but one of my very favorites is getting to read all these BOOKS! A box of our bestsellers just arrived for me to work with, and it might as well be Christmas over here.

hi, are you doomscrolling? It might feel like an act of agency due to the pandemic. Why not use that agency to take care of yourself through a screen break, going to bed early, and/or doing another activity that makes you happy? You still deserve time to rest and recover.

I stayed up late to finish this book and canNOT stop thinking about it. Especially when I start and end and spend my days in the many-times-translated words of a book that was the common prayer of empire.

The more I try to wrangle my kids into church, the more convinced I become that this is the responsibility of EVERYONE in the church. You can’t just have a nice rector. You can’t just have a nice nursery worker. You can’t just have one smiling face if everyone else is glaring.

I am utterly convinced that God will have all kinds of grace if we got the theology wrong. I’m not entirely sure about how God will take it if we got the loving other people, seeking justice, and choosing mercy part of life wrong.
