Ground rent has been abolished for new leases.There’s a call for it to be abolished in existing leases as well. Historically ground rent was always meant to be a “peppercorn”. They now rise to such high levels in some cases a mortgage lender will not lend. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/6085…
