Tony’s birthday is in a week??

Did they just forget about pepper or something? 🙄

He’s just taking a nap on his desk, paperwork stacked-- nothing out of the ordinary.

A quiet mumble as his eyes slowly open before shooting open completely when he saw Tony. He cleared his throat. “Ah- you didn’t see that.”

“I still got some paperwork to finish..” He yawned, his eyes felt droopy as his whole body was sore from overworking himself.

The sudden movement was very surprising but Pepper tiredly chuckles, too tired to fight back. “I guess so..” Usually he was the one carrying Tony, this was admittedly cute.

He turned to face Tony, his arms immediately wrapping around the others waist as he was big spoon. “I love you 3000.” He whispered with a chuckle, kissing Tony’s head softly.

“My love for you is beyond words, my love.” He hummed with a soft laugh of his own, his eyes slowly shutting as he listened to the other’s heartbeat. What was tomorrow again? Work has his brain forgetting other things.

“Everything is a competition with you and you know it.” Pepper amusedly spoke against the other’s neck, peppering him in kisses once before laying back down.

“You’re going down..” He yawned again, arm still around Tony’s waist like usual. He felt a wave of comfort holding him close.

He’s gently snatched @IAmIronMan_1970 from work and placed him on his lap.

Pepper felt the cold metal against his temple making his eyes widen, immediately loosening his grip on Tony’s waist. “T...Tony?”

“Tony, what the hell??” His hands now left Tony as he looked confused and shocked. He thought tony loved his touches..

“Tony, this isn’t funny.” He firmly spoke, now standing up and using his finger to lightly push the gun away from his face. He had powers, a gun wouldn’t intimidate him much.

A grunt of quick pain left him at the sudden action, rubbing his arm as he glared at Tony. What the hell is even happening? “If this is your idea of a game, I don’t like it.”

Pepper’s heart nearly stopped for a second, trying to ease his breathing as the bullet shot past him, a bit too close for his comfort. “Oh no..”

. . . “That’s adorable, you’re adorable. But yeah, I’ve taken worse than bullets, you’ll need a missile or something.”

“Try it, I control this building and all it’s weapons...I die, you die with me, just like you said a while ago.” Was pepper insane? Super brave? A mix of both due to working for this man half his life.
