“hey there,” danny says, putting her plate of grilled chicken, potatoes and veggie on the island. “just in time. just finished cooking.”

danny chuckles, going back for his own plate. “you’d swear you haven’t eaten in a month,” he says, setting it down next to her before grabbing a couple of drinks from the fridge.

“why the hell not?” danny asks, clearly disapproving with a frown tugging at his lips. “i told you to bring a granola bar or something in case you got busy.”

“proud of you,” danny says with a chuckle, cheeks red from the kiss and he moves to grab his plate. “been learning how to make other stuff for you, though.”

“yeah. see the way your face scrunches up at my food sometimes,” danny admits, using his fork to cut his chicken up. “figured i’d learn to make stuff that you like.”

“let me be nice,” danny huffs, taking a bite of his chicken. “you complain when i’m not nice, you complain when i’m nice. when do i get to win?”

“i know, freak,” danny chuckles, taking a sip of his beer and glancing towards her. “how many babies you deliver today?”

“jesus christ?” danny says, eyes wide. “how many women in seattle can do into labor at the same time? that’s insane.”
