October’s reading was again absolutely stellar. The connection between the Zambreno and the Leger was fascinating, especially since I also watched the movie, Wanda. Still thinking about all three.

No more dark afternoons in the winter. No more losing an hour of sleep every spring. RT if you agree that we should end the painfully inconvenient ritual of changing our clocks twice a year and make Daylight Saving Time permanent.

I don’t know that this one is unknown but I read it this year and ….mind blown. Probably my book of the year.

Another great reading month in November. My favorites are on the right although they were all good. Minor Detail was astounding and Tove Jansson’s short story collection was 5 stars for me. The Odd Women, recommended by Vivian Gornick, was excellent.

Sunday morning bliss

My favorite books of 2023. What a fabulous reading year! Thank you to Kim for #NYRBWomen23 which added six books to the list and JacquiWine for Kick the Latch & A Wreath for the Enemy and Unburied Books for Mary Olivier and everybody for Drifts which began my Zambreno run📚🤗

This was an almost impossible task but I always choose a Book of the Year. It's just that this year I had so many great choices. But when I read Drifts by Kate Zambreno back I January, something in me shifted and it set me on a course of reading a lot of what she's written. 🥰

Well I’m starting the year off with a couple of bangers😊

Once again I ask myself why I allow books to sit on my shelf for years/decades/eons only to find that I can’t put them down once I take the plunge. Pure ecstasy🥰

Oh my. I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful this book is. Laura Cumming wrote brilliantly in shining prose about Fabritius et al. Must check JacquiWine review. I’ll be in the Netherlands in Sept. Yay me.
