The Tenants’ Union of NSW stands with LGBTIAQ+ communities. People from these communities, particularly young people, are more likely to be renters, and are at increased risk of violence and being made homeless.

We are deeply troubled by the recent escalation of anti-trans rhetoric, rallies and attacks from the far right, and reject it completely. The Tenants’ Union works for a future where all people have affordable, secure, safe homes.

This future is only possible if we support each other, and especially support the people and communities bearing the brunt of hate and discrimination.

This Friday, 31 March, is Transgender Day of Visibility. For those in Sydney, there will be a rally in support of the trans community on Sunday 2 April in Newtown.
