Nabbed myself a last-minute ticket to #Macbeth Almeida Theatre, didn’t I? Saoirse Ronan is an understated Lady M. and her descent into madness (under the direction of yaël farber) is maybe the best plotted I’ve seen it. Opposite her, James McArdle is terrific – even sympathetic.

Magnificent MACBETH Almeida Theatre. Theatre doesn’t get more full-body thrilling than this. My favourite play pushed to the absolute hilt. Too much genius to put into words. Live performance should always aim to be this transcendent.
