#Thread

Lebanon feels like a tinderbox today. Last night, a widely-shared video purported to show a group of Lebanese men beating Syrians in the street. x.com/sawtkellebnen/… This incident was one of many, in an alarming flareup from which lessons must urgently be drawn. 🧵

Land doesn't vote, people do! French edition. 🗳️ Each municipality was transformed into a dot, with the area of the dot proportional to the number of voters 👉 a more accurate representation of voting patterns. Nonetheless, right-wing support 🟤 remains concerning.

Now 100,000 since February. On paper, it's almost back to pre-2019, now that the lira is officially 85000 LL/1 dollar. In reality, for the non-dollarized people, it's proportionally between - let's say - 10 to 50 times higher than it used to be in 2019.

Incredible Bloomberg data visualization that clearly shows what’s actually going on between Israel and Lebanon. First, despite all the talk of the threat of Hezbollah rockets hitting Israel, it’s actually Israel that’s consistently firing far more rockets over the border.
