I’m glad I cycle. I’m glad I walk. Glad I don’t watch too much telly and keep Facebook and to a lesser extent Twitter to a minimum. Because the stuff on social media could easily put a person in a dark place. We die once, but we live every day.

I walk 5-6 miles daily and my only criteria is a footpath as drivers kill pedestrians far too frequently. I never have to worry about personal safety, never have to have an alarm or keys in my hand. That is male privilege. ALL blame belongs to the perpetrators #SarahEverard

An absolutely heartbreaking read, a 12 year girl shot dead by British soldiers on a sunny Saturday on the way to confession. Many thanks to Majella’s sister Margarita for a loan of the book.

The Eating Out paradox. Me. Fancy eating at XYZ Restaurant if I can get a table? Her. Yes, that would be nice. Me, got a table, perfect for teatime. Her, hmmmm, maybe they’re not busy if you got a table so easy 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

That moment when you turn a corner and see the crest of the climb, grab a harder gear and the drops and then sprint,……..yea, that moment #greatmomentsincycling

A nice reward for good work would be higher pay or extra paid time off. Instead most bosses reward good work with more work, and then wonder why people don't go "above and beyond."

At last. Between pandemics and missed appointments I’ve clocked up my 50th blood donation 🩸. Doubt there’s time for 50 more but I’ll give it a try. NI Blood Transfusion

The shit-show that is queuing outside hospitals. We used to do 8 or more calls a shift, now it’s averaging 4, what happens to those we don’t get to? I absolutely in no way blame the EDs, they are running at beyond capacity.

1 million drivers uninsured every day in the UK Around 3,000 drivers caught per day 1.5 million cars caught and seized in the last 10 years. Sure looks like a level playing field.
