Young people from Redfern Youth Connect Redfern Youth Connect are asking for community support after Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation announced the closure of NCIE. The property is currently owned by @NSWALC. Staff are being offered “small amounts of money,” to sign non disclosures and walk away.

A simple solution would be to give half of the $13.5 million that was given to AIME, to Redfern Youth Connect some of that money to NCIE to keep it open so the SUCCESSFUL community based and driven programs continue and the Aboriginal staff get to keep their jobs. Problem solved.

One year ago! Who would’ve thought Sydney just went into another covid enforced lockdown. We packed all these packs for kids in Redfern and Waterloo. Our friends at NCIE & Redfern Youth Connect got it out there so kids got books whilst studying from home.
