It was a frightening night for residents of a Pasco Co. apartment building forced to flee their homes during a fire. Our volunteers were onsite last night, and today we're coordinating with partners to provide support. We're grateful to Pasco County Fire Rescue for their lifesaving work.

🔥 Early this morning, our volunteers responded to a multi-unit fire at Cedar Park Apartments in Lake City. Amazingly, everyone made it out safely. We’re assisting 56 residents, including 37 children, with food, clothing, shelter, medication replacement & emotional support. ❤️‍🩹

🚨 It was an intense moment when Tampa Police Department Officers Higgins and DeJesus were approached by a panicked man with a choking toddler. The pair quickly and calmly delivered first aid (back blows) until the object dislodged. For their actions, we presented them with #LifesavingAwards.🏅

As we head into #LaborDayWeekend, we're grateful for our responders who are available 24/7/365 because disasters don't take holidays. Volunteers like Vickie and Dan are ready to provide comfort & care when the unexpected happens -- like this Orlando home fire caused by lightning.
