Thank you to the Brule County Commission for welcoming me and giving me the opportunity to visit about property taxes. I appreciated the conversation and the chance to hear directly from our local leaders about how property taxes are impacting our families.

Before heading back to Pierre, Mike and I took some time together to enjoy what South Dakota has to offer. Coffee at Sweet Olivia’s, a hike through the Badlands National Park, a tour of the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site and wrapping up the day at Kadoka Distillery.

Back in Pierre for the 101st Legislative Session! The Governor delivered his State of the State Address, the first class of pages were sworn in, and I got settled back in at my desk. I’m ready to get to work for YOU!

Today, we heard the State of the Judiciary from the Chief Justice and the State of the Tribes from President Kathleen Wooden Knife of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe. It was also great to see familiar faces from Chamberlain, along with Chairman Lengkeek from the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe.

I’m hearing reports of multiple accidents across our area this evening. My prayers are with everyone involved and with the first responders working to keep people safe. Before heading out, check SD511.org for the latest road conditions and travel alerts.

An evening at the 40th Annual South Dakota Corn Conference! 🌽 Honored to be special guests of my constituent Jim Ketelhut, the outgoing president of the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council. Grateful for all of our producers who work hard every day to put food on our tables.

Today I spoke in support of SB 17, legislation that would bring our state laws in line with federal protections. Foreign influence has no place in our democratic process. I will continue working to protect the integrity of elections in South Dakota.

Huge thank you to Kool Beans in Brookings for keeping us going during session! ☕️ One of my favorite places to stop when I’m in town cheering on the Jacks. 🐰💙 Go give them a like and follow on social media, place an order online, or stop by their store and grab a cup!

Enjoyed visiting with Chad Mutziger of Midstate Communications from Chamberlain to talk about connectivity, infrastructure, and the role local providers play in keeping our communities connected. Thanks for coming to Pierre!

Great conversation at the Presho Community Cracker Barrel! We discussed property taxes, education funding, rural healthcare as well as other important topics. Special shoutout to the JAG students for showing up in a big way and asking some great questions.

I voted NO on the so-called “fake meat” bill because I don’t believe government should control what people eat, or risk unnecessary state barriers. Want proof I support our farmers and ranchers? Come over for supper. I’ll grab locally raised Limousin beef from my freezer. 🥩

I’m proud to have worked alongside a coalition of folks to make it easier to conduct prescribed burns between state and private lands. This is about trusting landowners and giving producers the tools they need to responsibly manage their land.

I attended cracker barrels in both Kimball and Chamberlain and appreciated the conversations with constituents. We discussed property taxes, rural health transformation funding and making sure those dollars get into our district, along with education, unclaimed property, and AI

Excited to welcome a new group of legislative pages to Pierre, including Raniyah Dakam from Chamberlain High School. Looking forward to seeing all that she learns during her time at the Capitol.
