Great to hear from Laura Palmer🎧 Island Crime πŸ”Ž about how her show (Island Crime) is set on Vancouver Island & was expected to have a local audience but is listened to globally. #VanPodFest2021

This festival has been such a fun way to spend Saturday. I'm left thinking that podcasting can be a holistic feminist DIY use of technology that allows for a plurality of voices and reciprocal relationships to be built with communities. Vancouver Podcast Festival #VanPodFest2021

The Vancouver Podcast Festival today was lovely, and being able to attend a virtual event while doing laundry and later colouring with my daughter, and playing with our cats was a perfect blend for a Saturday. More virtual events and festivals, please!! #VanPodFest2021

One highlight from #VanPodFest2021 was hearing from Lauren Bercovitch, @MrPaulBae & allison brough. Great discussion about the surge of podcasts being adapted for film and TV. They share how podcast producers are now intentionally creating shows that can scale.

A few weeks ago, the #VanPodFest Programming Committee decided to put the fest on hiatus. β˜”οΈ The plan was to host a social event instead, but plans have changed. In lieu, they put together a survey for folks to share their thoughts and hopes. πŸ‘‰ vanpodfest.ca
