Nice win, named presumably after the great King of Bavaria King Ludwig II of Bavaria's most famous castle 🇩🇪. Interesting name as his mother is called Schonbrunn, probably named so after Austria's 🇦🇹 most famous palace. Had the pleasure of visiting both Keri Brion Iradortiz #uselessfacts 🏇

Outside of Germany, King Ludwig II is relatively unknown. And, yet, he is one of history’s most tragic and romantic kings. He was a gay icon and a ruler who eschewed public appearances for turn inward into a fantasy realm of his own making.   omny.fm/shows/stuff-yo…

Herrenchiemsee Palace is located on Herreninsel Island in Chiemsee Lake. To reach Herrenchiemsee Palace you need to reach Prien am Chiemsee and from there you can take a cruise to reach Herreninsel Island. It’s the 3rd Palace commissioned by King Ludwig II #Germany

Would you believe me if I told you this castle was built just 155 years ago? It has everything and anything you could imagine... from central heating and flushing toilets to an artificial cave. And it completely changes the way we look at medieval castles... 🧵
