Microdispensing at the picoliter scale is redefining precision in science enabling ultra-accurate droplet placement for biotech, diagnostics and electronics. A raindrop ≈ 50 µL is 50 million× larger than a picoliter.

BREAKING: Sugars essential for life have been found in pristine asteroid Bennu samples collected by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx spacecraft. Combined with previous detections of amino acids and nucleobases, we see that life’s ingredients were widespread throughout the solar system:

Interesting! Beyond amino acids, sugars, and nucleobases for RNA, scientists also found on asteroid Bennu a large, disordered network of organic molecules far more complex and chaotic than proteins, with structure and isotopic ratios not found on earth nasa.gov/missions/osiri…

Why are the doctors behind Trump at this marijuana announcement wearing lab coats? The entire point of wearing a lab coat is that they protect your clothes from contamination and they NEVER LEAVE THE LAB. The same for nurses’ scrubs.. they’re not supposed to be worn home 🙄🙄

Science research is mostly invisible to the public. To many it's obscure & irrelevant. And returns on science investments carry longer horizons than quarterly or annual reports Yet it's the engine room of tech-innovation. Cut funds for science & you ultimately stall your economy

Your brain treats million, billion, and trillion like cousins. In reality, they live in different universes. • 1 million seconds ago → Jan 9, 2026 • 1 billion seconds ago → May 14, 1994 • 1 trillion seconds ago → ~29,700 BC

84% of Americans believe government investment in scientific research is worth it. Turns out science funding isn’t a fringe issue at all. It’s one of the rare areas where the country is still aligned - and completely at odds with actions of the Administration.

HiP-CT is a new technique that can hierarchically image whole human organs, beginning with the resolution of a human hair (25μm/voxel) down to a resolution where we can see single cells (1.5μm/voxel) [📹 Paul Tafforeau]
