On July 24, 2024, former Army officer Manfredo Madrigal pled guilty to destruction of U.S. Army materials and making false statements. He called the Russian Embassy in DC, told others Russia had reached out to him and claimed he was going to Russia. He got 54 months in prison.

Today, we remember and honor Sgt. 1st Class Jay L. Everett. On July 25, 1969, Everett, a counterintelligence special agent with the 135th MI Group, was killed in Pleiku Province, Vietnam, when the UH-1H helicopter he was a passenger in crashed into Dragon Mountain in heavy fog.

On July 27, 2021, Daniel Hale was sentenced to 45 months in prison for violating the Espionage Act of 1917. Hale leaked top-secret information to a reporter about U.S. drone operations abroad. Two of the leaked documents were later used by ISIS in a guide on avoiding detection.
