I'm slowly learning Icelandic and I'm finding a lot of comfort in small words that translate nicely to Scots. I've started a list but here's two: 🇮🇸 gráta 🏴 greet (pronounced differently) translates to: 🇬🇧 cry 🇮🇸 heim 🏴 hame (pronounced roughly the same) translates to: 🇬🇧 home

It was a fantastic shortlist but A Dutiful Boy by Mohsin Zaidi and No Modernism Without Lesbians by Diana Souhami triumphed at the Polari Prize Both books featured on our Best Books of the Year - they're wonderful.
