READ II provided support to schools & students affected by the conflict in Amhara & Afar regions. It provided blackboards, chalks, & stationaries to schools; scholastic & recreational materials, (exercise books, pencils, pens, footballs, and volleyballs) to students.

The USAID READ II EiCC Activity provides education to primary school students affected by the North Ethiopia Conflict in temporary learning centers (TLCs). It has established TLCs in IDP camps and is providing education to more than 2,250 IDP students in Afar & Amhara regions.

The USAID READ II EiCC procured and delivered 258k exercise books & 105k pens to students affected by the conflict in Tigray. It will help 65K students continue their education. Materials were procured & transported to Mekelle by Creative/READ II sub-recipient WVI. USAID Ethiopia

READ II received two major awards - COP of the Year and Project of the Year from Creative Home Office. READ II’s Chief of Party – Dr. Tassew Zewdie and the READ II Project are recognized for effective adaptive and resilience programming in an annual dinner held at Creative’s HQ.
