We need brave leaders to think differently about who “gets” tenure. There are faculty and staff that should have the same opportunities as traditional tenure track faculty. Saying no because it hasn’t been done before is a poor excuse. Abolish these hierarchies.

A note as you set up your course: Some students feel comfortable asking for extensions, accommodations or extra credit. Some students won’t feel it is their place to ask, they should manage it on their own, or turn in something suboptimal. Make your policies clear for equity.

LSE Featured Editor: @ProfRussoTait, UGA A mentor shared LSE articles when I was a biology graduate student--introducing me to a type of research I didn't know existed. This got me to consider a career where I could leverage my passion for biology & scholarship.
