How did S inventory evolve in the lunar mantle? - Tomorrow (Friday) morning Board 3015 at #AGU24, I'll present a new model designed with Rajdeep Dasgupta for lunar fO2, that can calculate the S solubility of silicate melts in equilibrium with sulfides of different metal/sulfur.
Where is sulfur (S) in the Earth's mantle? Sulfides of course! But can silicate minerals store some S during mantle melting? Can we measure trace S in silicates using EPMA? Rice Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences Rice Natural Sciences PhD student Anna Johnson's recent paper has some answers.🌋
The Center for Planetary Origins to Habitability of Rice Space Institute Rice University has opened its annual post-doc fellowship competition. The application deadline is Feb 15, 2025. Please RT to spread the word.🌕🌎🔬🦠🪐🌋☄️ emdz.fa.us2.oraclecloud.com/hcmUI/Candidat…
