Cougar Basketball with the program sweep 🧹of High Point Central tonight. JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys all win big wins this evening.

The Varsity Boys were led by Jr. Evan Shotwell with 14 points and 5 assists. Sr. Luke Smith also with a huge game giving the Cougars 13 points and 12 boards on the night.

For the JV’s sophomore TJ Garette led all scorers with 20, followed closely by Sophomore Lane Powell with 14 points and 6 assists.

The Cougars return to action this Friday evening (1/7) against the Panthers of Dudley High School @ Home on Wall Court. JV’s will play at 5:00 and Varsity at 6:30. There will be no girls game Friday night. See you there Cougar Nation!! 💪

After an arduous basketball schedule this week, our players still found time to help with backpack item deliveries after their game on Saturday!!

Tomorrow night (2/7) is “Pink Night” at The Rock for Mrs. Sandee Wiggins as she continues her brave fight with cancer. Donations will be accepted at the gate, and please wear pink. She has always been there for us, it’s our chance to return the favor. We love you, Mrs. Wiggins

Extremely excited for former Rockingham County High School Point Guard, CJ Mills. The sky is the limit for this kid!!

Congratulations to, Luke Smith on being named to the Mid-State 3A All-Conference Team. The 6’ 5” Senior averaged 15.2 PPG and nearly 11 rebounds per game this season. The only player in the Mid-State 3A, and one of two players in Region 6 to average a double-double.

Congratulations to Jr. Guard, Evan Shotwell on being named Mid-State 3A All-Conference Honorable Mention. In the sharp-shooter’s Junior campaign he averaged 11.3 PPG and nearly 4 assists per game.

Congratulation to Guard Maleek Bryant on being named Mid-State 3A All-Conference Honorable Mention. Maleek averaged just under 10 PPG, 5.2 RPG, and 3.2 steals per game. Both defensively, and offensively, this kid is a force on the floor. Oh, and did I mention he’s a sophomore??

Senior Point Guard, @CameronsTweetz (CJ Mills) will sign to play college basketball for Coach Pete Schoch, and his exciting and high-powered offense at Pfeiffer University (Misenheimer, NC) on Friday, March 11th at 3:00 on Wall Court at Rockingham County High School.

Proud of one of our own!! Former Cougar, Thomas Lefler has joined the coaching staff at Gardner-Webb as a graduate assistant. Congratulations, Coach!!

Such a special day for the athletes and the other students involved. Every student at Floyd Co. is in the stands at Beal Field cheering for these athletes. Students make signs, cheer loud, it’s a moving day…I wish all schools did this much for the Special Olympics…miss this!!

Open gym next week on Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 to 7:30. Free sports physicals will also be given at the school on Wednesday, April 27th…that’s right…I said FREE!! No insurance needed, for all student-athletes. Wait…did I mention?…it’s FREE!!

Congrats to Coach Williams and his boys! This makes Coach Williams 10th men’s team appearance, and 18th team appearance between the men’s and women’s programs including: 4 state championships, 2 state runner-ups, 3 second runner-up finishes & 1 individual state champion. 🐐🐐⛳️⛳️
