At #AISGZ seems #MicrosoftTeams is embedded in our DNA. 2 weeks ago we added student announcements to the Workplace Hub. Now we've had 15,000 hits on that icon. Our 30 day total for chat is 200,000. Will easily hit 2 million this year at our school of a thousand in south China.

We're proud of our new buildings & excited to see the what lies ahead. But I remarked to a faculty member, building it is the easy part. The real challenge is leveraging it. Beautiful disappearing walls, if we carefully schedule the right classes next to each other. ILETC Project

OK, so how deeply is Teams embedded in our #AISGZ DNA? Check out this Grade 5 bulletin board. That's right, you don't even need turn on your IPad to log into Teams. It's just there!!! We're glad our Grade 5s are using Teams for collaboration here in south China. Mike Tholfsen

#AISGZ welcomes Gr. 4 Teacher Taralyn Lefebvre on campus! While quarantine remains a COVID feature in China, once our teachers are out, a whole lot of excited kids and happy colleagues welcome them on campus!

Teaching biology in a uber-urban setting doesn't mean it can't be fun. #AISGZ Oliver Ferris' students are learning about carnivorous plants. They fed ants to their venus fly trap plants and were extremely happy to explain the process and plant parts. Made for a fun visit today!

Imagine if your hospital depended on donated saline solution, antibiotics and other supplies. Or if your doctor had to buy her own scalpel and other equipment to operate on you. We wouldn't tolerate it, yet teachers have to do this all the time.

#AISGZ turned our kitchen into a laboratory yet again. This summer the living room turned into a glyphosphate experiment with mugwort. Our other boy studied fermentation rates in 55 samples of white flour w/ varying endosperm content. Took over the dining room table for a week!

Had a chance to visit #AISGZ @AisgJohn and found his multimedia students getting exceptionally creative. Complete new species coming out of the classroom, such as this Monarch Elephant. And the Rhinoshark (gene splicing still underway). Magical creativity on display!

#AISGZ Ms. Reyna (she/her) worked with our ES PLCL's to easily find over-lap between PLC goals & the ISTE Standards. Teachers attached standards onto the goal document in the gallery walk. Numerous connections found. We say ISTE is just good teaching & fun learning. And so relevant today!

It's Science Friday in #AISGZ Oliver Ferris' Gr. 4 classroom. This week students learn about transpiration as their celery stalks drink up different colored water and proceed to change to that color. Students used their iPads to zoom in on the leaves & document their learning.

And our #AISGZ students are so fortunate to have educators like Meg Gwalchmai to learn with every day. #ACAMIStech Day 1. So many professional learning opportunities and it's just the half of it!

Dear PLN. #AISG would like to connect with other IB schools using innovative scheduling. Schedules that adapt to the needs of students and classes dynamically, rather than a fixed block rotation, but honoring IB requirements. Anyone willing to share what they are doing?

What's that? Not enough time to teach coding? Think again. Ms. Reyna (she/her) gave a 5 minute intro to #AISGZ 2nd graders in Kent Watkins room. Just 5 minutes and the kids were off and coding with Dash's and Blockly. AISGZ

A new #aisgz student arrived in China and is in quarantine. But that doesn't mean she's alone! Her 22 classmates and teacher Mr Kidhart met her today for the first time. It's not the usual first day of class, but quarantine's not something she's going through alone. AISGZ

Any recommends for online intro comp sci for 8th or 9th graders. Will be a teacher facilitator in room, but no CS experience. Looked at Code Academy. Any others? Would like assessments built in, unlock next assignment etc. Low-cost or no cost. Not heading to AP or IB CS.
