Birthing Day gifts, extraneous purchases. I'm pleased to have two Coltrane Seattle shows. The Closer is a 180 gram pressing, and I adore the basslines in I'm Not In Love. I recall it being used in the film Aloha Bobby And Rose, 1975. Nerdshit.

New Orleans in the 1960s was sharply divided over the practice of segregation, and the "Citizens’ Council of Greater New Orleans" advocated some pretty silly stuff, including a protest against black musicians.

James Baldwin powered my budding mind, soul, and feelings. He was my favorite writer. Just a tsunami of grace, and intellect, complete with a command of biblical mores. He used them like a sword against the righteously wrong.
