I just want to take one more opportunity to say thank you to a few people who were so amazing this past year. To my sisters, Adrienne and Denise, thank you for being two of the best friends a girl could ask for. You have been there every step of the way and I love you both 💙💙

To an unlikely ally, you know who you are 😉, thank you for offering advice, encouragement, and support. I appreciate you more than you will ever know 🩵

To my sister, Renee, we are so different, yet so much alike. Your strength and courage inspires me to do hard things…and running for office has been “hard things!” 🥴

To my mom, Tina, thank you for raising me to be passionate about what I love and fight for what I believe in. You raised us to be strong and that strength and determination is what has carried me through this campaign.

To my son, Garry, thank you for being my biggest cheerleader, motivator, and supporter. You always keep it real with me and I appreciate your insight.

Last but not least, to my amazing boyfriend, thank you for being my rock, and keeping me grounded. When I wanted to give up, you were there to remind me that God was in control. Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, but most of all praying for and with me.

I would not have been able to do this without any of you this year. No matter what happens tomorrow, I just wanted to take a minute to tell you all I appreciate you and I love you all 🩵

Thank you so much to everyone who believed in me, supported me, and voted for me. It has been an honor and privilege getting to know so many of you over this last year and I’m grateful for many new friendships I’ve made.

I will never stop advocating for our kids. Our kids must be free to learn in a safe and inclusive learning environment. I will also continue to fight for alternative graduation pathways that will lead to student to growth and success beyond high school.

With the 89th legislative session set to begin soon, there’s still much work to be done and I promise to continue to fight and advocate until the day that the SBOE, TEA, and legislators work collaboratively for the betterment of all students.

My work here is still not done. Keep fighting the fight. Our kids deserve our best!
