I love breaking down mechanics to find areas where an athlete can make impactful changes that have immediate impact. Lead leg was the focus here in this situation.

Lead leg bracing is difficult to do constantly. Landing with greater angle and working hard to extend faster makes a big difference in pitch velocity.

Curveballs - both of these were “curveballs” to this guy. The Rapsodo Baseball and @HudlTechnique make finding the best one way easier than it used be.

Save this one guys .... it’s a good tool for spin direction to pair with the Rapsodo Baseball I have it pulled up on my phone every time I am coaching a pitch design session.

This impressed me... this kid came in as a self taught pitcher and moved very well. ( rocker - top of lift - mid stride ) He gained ground and loaded his hips & back leg during his lift. Creation of lead leg delay adds tons of late momentum!

Often times we overlook the simple... like grip or terminology. This guy throws a perfectly good gyro slider that needs ZERO help. As coaches we need to do our best to fully evaluate players before we try to change them.

Early trunk rotation - (ETR) Me: “can you feel it?” Player: “no” Me: “can you see the difference here?” Player: “yes!” ETR: happens for many reasons. It’s hard to feel / recognize as the thrower. Very rewarding to help players on this technique

2022 Cam Chalfant (Edmond Memorial Baseball) had a solid start for @SandlotOkc2022 sitting 88-89 early and settled in at 86-88. Featured a hard slider at 77-78 that he commanded to both sides of the dish. @PBR_Oklahoma #Super17

2022 Luke Stamps (Bentonville HS) was sharp pitching from a low 3/4 slot up to 88. Also mixing a breaking ball at 73-74 with big depth and a fading CH for Marucci Midwest Victus National. Brian Walker #Super17
