A new study published in #ProcB on temperate and tropical fish reveals that those altering different ecological traits such as behaviour, diet and habitat choice thrive better in new environments. ow.ly/w9j750QwCQF | #AnimalBehaviour #Ecology #Physiology

In this 2nd podcast on the #Global Bioconvergence Center of Innovation, we discuss #coralreef research with Nori Satoh and Ravasi's Lab. From field trips to exotic places to the valuable support of local Okinawans, it’s a fascinating journey! Nick Luscombe bit.ly/3Gcbifd
What happens in the brains of two interacting fish species with climate change?
Have a more detailed look:

Great work from Sandra Ramirez-Calero and José Ricardo Paula

#letssavethefishes #teamfish
But what happens to this specialised #behaviour in the future with #climatechange ?
The time performing this #crucial cleaning behaviour is decreased with ocean warming and acidification. As seen also in previous work by José Ricardo Paula
So how is this manifested in the brain?
5/n
#warming response was strong, affecting stress and behaviour.
#acidification was more diverse with many functions altered, such as behaviour, visual perception, dopamine, gaba and the #circadianrhythm .
