I have actually lived in the Maldives. In Male. For 5 years total in two stints.

One thing tourists need to know is that the resort islands are their own, exclusive bubble.

The rest of Maldives, where the locals actually live, is a very different place.

In a day PM Modi manages to get so many messages across, there’s always something for each of the constituent groups that make up BJP’s support base.

It’s a real master class in political communication. He’s doing, what, 3-4 rallies per day?

Using interviews also very well.

They weirdly assume the top 1% have 77% of wealth.
Piketty himself says top 1% have 40%.
Assuming that’s true, it is notional wealth tied up in shares.
They sell all of it, cause a crash, realize 20%.
From 77% they are at 20%.
How will they get the missing 57%?

Ashley Tellis is that wimp who poses next to a tank and thinks he’s Patton.

Policy wonks and creatures of Washington need to stop being delusional.

Manish Tewari must be making up stats. Not even leftist economist Piketty alleges that the top 1% has 77% of India’s wealth.

Much of the wealth of the super rich is in controlling positions in their companies. Many publicly listed.

It is notional wealth, paper wealth.

This is hilarious. Because on many issues the U.S. Ambassador, American deep state and JNU left, are on the same side! 😂

My take on Rahul Gandhi’s election strategy:

Some time ago he had shared a map (or alluded to it) and taunted BJP that they couldn’t grow in South/East.

That is also his map of opportunity.

Leaving aside TN, WB where regional parties are strong, he sees a chance to revive

You have to set ambitious goals and pursue them. And no one better than Modi to oversee the next critical decade in India’s history.

Rahul Gandhi’s policies will take us back to an atmosphere similar to pre-Reforms India.

Instead of people trying to be the best they can be,

Just finished reading the manifestos of both the BJP & the Congress ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP manifesto does a decent job of convincing citizens to vote for the BJP.

The Congress manifesto does an even better job of persuading citizens to vote for the BJP.

Perfect

What will it take to achieve ? 8% growth annually.

It is ambitious but achievable as long as we do not elect any Marxists.

Let’s take it one election at a time. Young Indians should know their careers can be made or destroyed depending on how they vote

Liberals in India don’t know whether to remain pro-science, and pro-vaccine (serious side effects are 1 in 100,000) or to use this opportunity to attack Modi and the vaccine’s safety.
